I want to start a blog where ideas can be shared about looking for work in RI. I am soon to be 63 and was forced to take early social security last year after I could not find a job after my Unemployment was stopped.
I eventually got back on and then made the mistake of taking a job that I never should have and hated it enough to quit after 2 weeks and now I cannot get my UI back since I am listed as a Voluntary Quit and I am waiting for an appeal.
I hope there is enough interest to make this blog worth while.
What's your story and situation being unemployed in RI?
Hello Jesboc,
ReplyDeleteI know you from several sites but I found your blog (belatedly) at JannaJives with your comment about Gran Hotel. I was laid off (permanently) as it turns out in 2007 at the age of 63 in California and couldn't find a suitable job after 40+ years as a IT consultant. I ended up taking Social Security in 2010 and that is what I have been living on since. I went without health or dental insurance for over two years until I was eligible for Medicare. But my former personal physicians had either retired or did not take Medicare patients so I had to take a Senior Advantage program with Kaiser Permanente. I've given up looking for a job. I hope you are doing OK in RI?
